Sometimes the deepest battles are the ones no one sees.

There are people who quietly struggle with depression, carrying a weight in their hearts they don’t know how to release. They want to feel again, but everything inside feels numb.

So they keep it hidden… from friends, from family, from the people who love them most. On the outside, everything seems normal… but inside, they are hurting.

When they try to speak about it, the words they hear back can feel dismissive:

“It’ll pass.”

“Just suck it up.”

“Be a man.”

But pain doesn’t disappear just because someone tells you to be stronger.

They never want to end their life. They simply want relief from the storm inside their heart. Sometimes people reach for anything that might ease that pain…even if the relief is only temporary.

But even in the darkest moments, hope is not lost.

With the last bit of strength they had left, they reached for something greater than themselves. Like the woman in scripture who reached for the hem of Jesus’ garment, they reached for the One who could truly heal what the world could not see.

And in that moment, everything began to change.

This piece was an emotional journey for me to paint. Layer after layer, day after day, I felt the weight of the story it carries. I was tempted to keep adding more, but sometimes the most honest moments are found in restraint.

For anyone silently battling their own inner storm… you don’t have to carry it alone. If you feel like you have no one to reach out to, reach for Him.

He is the one who gives life… and gives it abundantly.
